Foundational Literature for the Modern Student
Available in 2025–2026
Omnibus IV, designed for grades 10 and up and for students who have completed Omnibus I, is the first text in the second cycle of the Omnibus curriculum from Veritas Press. Like Omnibus I, this course covers the sweep of history from the beginnings of civilization to the fall of Rome. However, Omnibus IV incorporates more challenging texts and engages students at a higher academic level, reflecting their growing rhetorical skills and capacity for critical thought. The emphasis is on grappling with ideas, not simply gathering information, and students are guided to evaluate these ideas in light of Scripture.
As with all Omnibus levels, daily readings, assignments, and activities help students interact with the greatest works of Western Civilization in a challenging, enjoyable, and profitable way. Students continue to strengthen their skills in composition, logic, and aesthetics, while exploring the masterworks of classical antiquity. Supplementary secondary texts provide additional depth and context to enrich the study.
