BIBLICAL & CLASSICAL CIVILIZATIONS
OMNIBUS I
Foundational literature for the modern student
Available in 2025-2026
Omnibus I, for 7th through 9th graders, is the first text in the first cycle of the Omnibus curriculum, a 6-year study of the great works of Western Civilization from the publisher Veritas Press. While students may enroll in any level, Omnibus I is an appropriate entry point for middle schoolers.
In this first year of the program, the emphasis is on ancient history and literature from early civilizations through Ancient Rome. The teaching within this and every level of the Omnibus places a heavy emphasis on ideas rather than imparting information. Assignments and discussions come from our study of ancient history and theology, and the primary literature is based on authors of the period. Through an integrated approach, students are helped to appreciate the unity of all knowledge. All the material is taught through a Biblical worldview, and various books of the Bible are taught alongside the main readings. In addition to the masterworks of the period, students also read secondary titles that correlate with and add interest to our study.
