Christianity and the Medieval World | Omnibus II

Foundational Literature for the Modern Student
Available in 2026–2027

Omnibus II, designed for 7th through 9th graders, is the second text in the first cycle of the Omnibus curriculum from Veritas Press. This course immerses students in the great works of the Medieval World, beginning with Saint Augustine and concluding with the Protestant Reformers. Readings and discussions are grounded in the history and theology of the period, while literature is drawn primarily from the same era. Through this integrative approach, students are guided to see the unity of knowledge and to engage ideas thoughtfully, all taught through a Biblical worldview. The emphasis is on grappling with ideas rather than simply gathering information.

Alongside guided activities in the Omnibus II Student Text, students read primary masterworks and secondary titlesthat enrich understanding. Primary works provide essential source material for comprehending the period, while secondary literature adds depth, context, and perspective.

As with all Omnibus levels, daily readings, assignments, and exercises help students engage with the greatest works of Western Civilization in a challenging, enjoyable, and profitable way. Students continue to develop their skills in composition, logic, and aesthetics, laying a strong foundation for future study.
