Foundational Literature for the Modern Student
Available in 2025–2026
Omnibus I, designed for 7th through 9th graders, is the first text in the first cycle of the Omnibus curriculum—a six-year study of the great works of Western Civilization from Veritas Press. While students may enroll at any level, Omnibus I serves as an ideal entry point for middle school students.
In this foundational year, students explore ancient history and literature, from the earliest civilizations through Ancient Rome. The focus is on grappling with ideas rather than simply acquiring facts, encouraging critical thinking and meaningful discussion. Assignments and conversations arise from the study of history, theology, and primary literature of the period. Students are guided to see the unity of knowledge and to interpret these works through a Biblical worldview, with select books of Scripture taught alongside the main readings. Secondary titles are also included to enhance understanding and bring the period to life.
